What is this website?
“Nabada · Tell Beydar” is an interactive guide to ancient Nabada in Al-Hasakah, Syrian Jazira — a circular city (Kranzhügel) that flourished in the 3rd millennium BCE as a regional centre of the kingdom of Nagar (Tell Brak). The site presents the timeline, landmarks (Acropolis Palace, five temples, Main Street, Tablet House), an interactive satellite map, a 3D simulator, the mission’s official virtual tour (104 scenes) and a photo gallery.
Content sources
Content is based on the publications of the Syrian–European mission at Tell Beydar (ECUMS with the Directorate-General of Antiquities and Museums, official site beydar.org), the Subartu reports (Brepols), “Nabada: The Buried City” (Scientific American 2000), encyclopaedias and press reports — all detailed in the Sources section of the homepage.
